I have sent you a pm through Debra's website regarding posting her on this website. I appreciate that you have had the permission from her mom (and no disrespect to Renate) but as a close friend of Debra who speaks to her regulary, I am more than sure that she will not want this no matter how much good intention is meant. She trusts very few people and her case is now at a Crutial point as she awaits the judges decision. She has expressed to me time and time again how she does not want to bring any attention to her case other than via her website. I will let you know her response asap. Lisa

I am not sure I understand.
If Debra has a website then of course people will get information from the site.
A website is out in the public domain and can be passed around but people are still getting info from the site.

Debra'a website is controlled and maintained by a close pal of hers called Frankie. Everything is checked regulary and if anything negative or damaging is posted then it is removed. I only speak from Debra and not for her. Because the WHOLE TRUTH is on her website this is why she only feels safe being referred to from that. She is an extremly private woman and because of all she has been through struggles with trust in a big way!
I hope I have not trodden on anyone's toes, I am just very protective of my friend. You have her moms permission and I am sure they will talk about it through their letters.
Debra's case is being actively worked on by the judge at the moment and hopefully a grant of Habeas will be the result.
She has suffered so much and her emotions have run dry. She needs this result to mentally survive.

Many, many of us are in the same boat as you are - helping a friend/loved one who is innocent in prison/death row. A HUGE percentage are waiting on court decision, JUST LIKE DEBBIE.
Just a few....
Bob Gondor and Randy Resh - waiting on Ohio Supreme Court regarding new trials
Kenny Richey - waiting on 6th Circuit Federal Court regarding new trial
John Spirko - waiting on DNA testing to come back to fight execution date.
Keenya Curry - waiting on Ohio Innocence projects investigation of her case to be completed to see if she can get a new trial.
There are so many innocent inmates out there suffering...most in silence because no one cares or listens. THAT IS NOT THE CASE ON THIS BOARD!
I can speak first hand that Karen only wants cases to be heard on this website/board and not exploited.
Tell Debbie we are praying for justice in her case, as well!

Thanks I really appreciate your post patty and I apologise for my heisty reaction and I will pass on your good wishes to debs.
I have many penpals on dr and although not claiming their innocence they are fantastic people. I write to Kenisha Berry on Texas dr and although her letters are quite basic she seems are really nice girl. We have never talked about her case and I would never ask but I can from time to time post updates on how she is?
Fingers crossed for all people awaiting new decisions regarding their cases XX

All we want to do on here is highlight the ladies in Debra's situation and refer them to any sites the ladies have.
Of course you can post updates on any of your penpals on here too.
It makes the women "human" to readers which can only be good.

K you are right and I had no cause for concern regarding this site and its credability. I have spent so long taking her name off damaging notice boards and forums that I didn't even stop to check it out. I will assure Debs that this is a site FOR her and that you all wish her the very best.

Debra Milke recently lost an appeal, to the astonishment of everyone including, by some accounts, the prosecutor in the case. I am not personally acquainted with her and am well aware that she's a very private person. But I think anything we can do, even a few words of encouragement on a card, would be welcome.
